Getting Started with Simple Personalization

Last updated: June 22, 2026

Problem Statement

Every visitor arrives at your site with a specific intent — researching a product, evaluating your company, applying for a job. Personalization tailors the experience to that intent, and the easiest way to start in Uniform is with signals.

Solution

A signal triggers personalization on a component. Signals can be based on:

  • The marketing campaign that brought the visitor to the site

  • The visitor's location

  • The landing page

  • A specific event (add to basket, newsletter sign-up, etc.)

  • Data from other systems (audience segment, customer type, etc.)

1. Create a new signal

Create the signal in the Uniform Visual Workspace and publish it.

Once the signal is published, there are two ways to use it:

  1. Uniform Visual Workspace

  2. Headless CMS, where the mapping for personalization is handled in another system

2. Personalize using the Uniform Visual Workspace

Configure signal-based personalization directly on your components in the Visual Workspace.

3. Personalize using a headless CMS
